1 : the oddly unsettling experience of seeing a Facebook friend in real life, and finding oneself incapable of instigating any meaningful kind of conversation: I don’t know why, but seeing Bob on the street left me completely bookfaced. Maybe if I tweet about it I’ll feel less weird.

1 : disagreeable physical effects experienced upon overeating takeout* food—often compounded by consumption of alcohol: Honey, we’ve got to change our eating habits on Thursday nights, I have a terrible takeover.

*Due to varying regional dialects, a takeover can be referenced as a carry-over (in U.S. and Scottish English), a parcel-over (in Indian English and Pakistani English), and tapau-over (in Malaysian English and Singlish).

1 : a term or phrase (used like proper English) by Eric Karjaluoto, which, in spite of seeming foolish, slowly creeps into one’s daily dialogue: I don’t think it’s a real word, it’s probably just another karjism. It almost makes sense, though, doesn’t it?
